Fanning Winds of Change!

Altona North, Victoria, July 22, 2010
Iconic Australian automotive cooling technologies manufacturer, Davies, Craig Pty Ltd made two important announcements today relating to its Thermatic® Fan range. The company adds a new model Thermatic Fan into its popular line up of automotive and condenser fans and also announced some price reductions on various models.

The release of the new DCSL14 a 14” high performance unit now fills the increasingly popular 1500CFM range which falls between the current 14” fan (1000CFM) and the very popular 16” model (2120CFM). Space between the back of the radiator and the front of the engine is a critical element when selecting a Thermatic Fan and no one is more aware of this than Davies Craig. The new 14” Hi Performance is almost the same dimensions as the current 14” fan with the step up to a more powerful motor. Commenting on the new addition to the Thermatic® Fan family, Sales and Marketing Manager, John Benson stated, “With an increased demand for more engine horsepower in its various forms over a wide variety of vehicles comes the natural increase in generated heat. It’s vital that this heat is dissipated as quickly as possible and a strong, more powerful Thermatic® Fan in this more compact size is essential”.

Without doubt, one of the most important items of any cooling system is the electric Thermatic® Fan. There are a variety of electric fans on the market all declaring to achieve various standards of performance. In some cases, an electric fan’s ‘performance specifications’ fall well short of the product’s ‘actual’ performance and in some instances with catastrophic results. The old adage, ‘you only get what you pay for’ is never more prevalent when it comes to purchasing an electric fan. An electric fan’s performance specifications are pivotal to the acceptable operation and life of an engine and the satisfactory performance of an air conditioning system.
In 1971, belt-driven fans were the only option for automotive cooling. Searching for a more efficient method, Australian engineers Daryl Davies and Bill Craig created the Thermatic Fan.
Davies, Craig was formed to manufacture the new electric fans, and has since developed a comprehensive range that now cover most automotive and air conditioning applications.

Today Davies, Craig’s tailor made cooling systems are supplied to automotive manufacturers and the aftermarket around the world. Davies, Craig was established to satisfy a market need and our ongoing investment in Research and Development will ensure we continue to provide better and more efficient products.
An electronically controlled cooling system, complete with radiator, fan, Electric Water Pump and programmed heat source, simulates the daily conditions experienced by any car on the road.
Quality and setting the standards is a high priority at Davies, Craig, who created the ‘Thermatic Fan' so we literally set the benchmark in quality and performance. In 1994 Davies, Craig became a Quality Endorsed Company, reaching Australian Standards' ISO 9002:1994 in production, installation and servicing. This qualification was upgraded to ISO 9001:2000.
